Feel the heat with NFS

This week, the next installment in the Need For Speed franchise was announced. NFS Heat, developed once again by Swedish studio Ghost Games, lets players race in an open world, with legitimate races taking place by day and the good old underground scene (and chasing police) spring up at night.

“The roads, the risks, and the rides never end in this street racer where a player can roll deep with their crew, build their garage full of hot cars, and make the city their nonstop playground.”

I must admit the last NFS I played was Rivals, which was quite a bit of a let down for me. I am interested to see how this game gets received by gamers. It does sound, however as though EA have listened (to a point) to loyal NFS fans with this one and are offering a lot more open world action with customisation to boot.

“We’re delivering more options than ever before for players to be unique and make themselves known,” said Riley Cooper, Creative Director at Ghost Games. “Our fans have been clear that they want more cars, more customization, and more challenges, and we’re tuning up on every aspect. From your character’s style to your car’s performance and your driving style, we’re fueling everyone’s creativity with this new game.”

NFS Heat launches November 8, 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
