Nintendo: Putting the joy back in the Joy-Con

Switch gamers rejoice! According to Vice in the US, there has been an internal memo circulating within Nintendo specifying that Switch customers will no longer need to pay to get their Joy-Con controllers affected by ‘Drift’ repaired. Not only that but those of you who are out of warranty should be able to get them fixed free of charge too!

“At Nintendo, we take great pride in creating quality products and we are continuously making improvements to them. We are aware of recent reports that some Joy-Con controllers are not responding correctly. We want our consumers to have fun with Nintendo Switch, and if anything falls short of this goal we always encourage them to visit http://support.nintendo.com so we can help.”

Although they still haven’t publicly acknowledged that there is a common fault, this does sound like Nintendo have taken on board the massive amounts of feedback they’ve received over recent weeks.

If you’re in NZ and are having drift issues with your Joy-Cons, we’d recommend getting in touch with Nintendo through their NZ toll free number which can be found here.
