Nintendo Switch October Recap

This month has been a busy one for Nintendo and the Switch, and still with more to come! Below is a quick recap of what has been released lately and what to look forward to very soon.

Old school RPG fans like myself have been spoilt lately with the release of Divinity Original Sin 2 being added to the switch (with the awesome feature of being able to have a save file that spans the switch and your steam account), the recent release of both Baldurs Gate 1 & 2 and Icewind Dale and now we have also been treated with the release of the Witcher 3. Baldurs Gate 2 is probably my favourite game of all time so im excited to have a portable version where I can take Boo with me anywhere I go.

Outside of the RPGs, Nintendo has also had Blizzard’s Overwatch arrive on the switch, the incredibly strange looking Ring Fit adventure has been released, and pokemon creators Game Freak have also released a new game called, Little Town Hero (this has been receiving some pretty contrasting reviews).

On that note, next month sees the arrival of the Switch’s first Pokemon entries. Pokemon Shield & Sword arrive on the 15th of November. I will be picking up Shield I imagine and am looking forward to seeing how the game handles this new “wild zone”. We will also see the release of Resident Evil 5 and 6 on the switch as well as Luigi’s Mansion 3.

Below is some gameplay of the new Pokemon entries ;

As well as the good there is some bad worth noting:

  • The Baldurs Gate ports do not allow multiplayer
  • Both the Witcher 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2 is are rough around the ages visually, but this is not too bad a price to pay for portability
  • The new Pokemon entries do not have the entire National Dex

All in all its an exciting few months for the Switch. Is there anything you will be looking to pick up, or is there anything new you have been playing recently that is worth a mention? Let us know below!
