Xbox (Beta) App now available to download

Microsoft has had a somewhat useless Xbox app preinstalled within the Windows 10 system pretty much since launch, however they recently have stripped this back to be a ‘Xbox Console Companion’ app, basically keeping the social parts of it so you can keep an eye on what your friends are doing while you are playing on your Xbox One console.

Today during their E3 briefing however, Microsoft mentioned a new Xbox app for Windows which looks to be a central point for their PC games store/library. It will also contain a vast collection of games (100+) which come under Microsoft’s new Xbox Game Pass for PC.

It will be interesting to see how many gamers jump on board with this, but with all the game studios that Microsoft are bringing into the fold, it may be a great way to get access to games across all genres.

You can download the Xbox (Beta) app and then sign up for a 1 Month Trial of the Xbox Game Pass for PC for just $1 (within the app itself is easiest).

EDIT: Looks like you need to be on Windows 10 Version 1903 for it to work, so make sure your PC is up to date first!
